Report Zoning Violations

If you observe zoning violations in your neighborhood, such as cars parked on the grass, paved front lawns, too many unrelated occupants in a home, etc., you can report them to Fairfax County.

Help keep our neighborhood safe by reporting violations.

Grass

It is illegal to park a vehicle on the front yard. The vehicle can be parked on the front yard for up to 48 hours to allow residents to unload, work on the vehicle and/or clean it.  If you would like to report a violation, please contact Zoning at (703) 324-1300

If you have a neighbor whose grass is over 12 inches high, you can call Fairfax County at (703) 324-1950 and the county will make sure that the lawn is cut.

Parking Regulations

Be considerate, and be aware. County parking regulations prohibit blocking driveway entrances. Do not park closer than 10 feet to either side of driveway entrances, and no closer than 15 feet to a stop sign or fire hydrant. Call the Fairfax County Police non-emergency number at 703-691-2131 for parking violations.
